CLEP's official policy states that students must wait three months before retaking a CLEP exam.
SUNY Orange students must wait a minimum of 45 days before retesting. Students may take the test twice within an academic year (August to July). TEAS scores are valid for two years.
Students from other institutions should check with their institution before retesting.
Have you tested before and taken courses at SUNY Orange? If yes, your scores remain valid, and you can continue to take courses from where you left off. You may not retest.
Have you tested before but not taken courses at SUNY Orange? If yes, your scores will be valid for two years from the date of your test. After that point, your scores will be removed from our system, and you will need to take the placement test again before being able to register for courses.
With the exception of the Ability to Benefit (ATB) test, returning students are not permitted to retest.
If you would like to retake the Ability to Benefit (ATB) test or you are an incoming student and would like to be considered for a retest, please complete a Retest Request Form.
You will be notified via email of the outcome of your request. If approved, you may then sign up for a test date. Do not sign up for a test date unless your request is approved.
