Youth Empowerment Program (YEP)

The Youth Empowerment Program (YEP) is a WIOA-funded grant program made possible by the Orange County Employment and Training Administration (ETA). Thanks to this partnership and SUNY Orange, the YEP is able to offer free GED® test preparation classes to out-of-school and underemployed/unemployed youth to obtain their High School Equivalency diplomas.

This unique program offers online classes (based out of the Middletown campus), as well as in-person classes on the Newburgh campus, and provides dedicated advisors, career planning, and job-readiness activities. Our goal is to serve as a stepping stone for youth continuing to higher education and other educational programs, while establishing long-term career goals and gaining employment experiences.
