Computer in GED labGED Testing Center – SUNY Orange Newburgh Campus

The SUNY Orange Newburgh campus is an official Pearson Vue GED® Test Center. Our mission is to provide a reliable and secure testing environment in order to give test takers a fair opportunity for academic and professional success.  

The GED Test Center is available to all New York State residents seeking to earn their High School Equivalency Diploma.

Testing is computer-based and available in English and Spanish.

Things to Know

How Do I Schedule a GED Test?

  • Review Eligibility Requirements for GED®.
  • Testing in NYS on the NYSED Website.
  • To register for the GED® exam, please create an account at www.GED.com
  • After creating your GED.com account, locate our testing center, and schedule your required exams.

Day of the Exam

  • You must bring a non-expired, government ID that has your full name, address, signature, and date of birth. 
  • Your ID must show a New York address for at least 30 days. If unable to prove NYS residency, or do not have a signature on your ID, please bring a second form of identification. 
  • Examples of supplemental ID can include but are not limited to: another form of ID that can substantiate your New York State home address or a currently issued utility bill, apartment lease, auto insurance policy or other official correspondence containing my name and New York State address.
  • Please be sure to review the New York State GED® guidelines for testing.
  • Important: If you miss your subtest, you must wait 60 days to reschedule. To avoid this, you must cancel or reschedule at least 24 hours in advance.

After the Exam

  • Students will be able to see their scores via their GED.com account.
  • If you fail a subtest, there is a 60-day waiting period to reschedule.

NYS Regents High School Equivalency Exam Pathway

NYSED grants Regents Pathway Credit for students who previously passed Regents exams. If you passed any Regents exams in high school, please visit NYSED website to access the R-Application for Regents Pathway credits to be recognized.

College Closings & Delays

College closings and delays are published online and shared via social media platforms. When the college is closed or delayed during your test appointment, Pearson Vue will contact you with instructions about how to reschedule your test.
